Our country is suffering, and the church of Jesus Christ should be in a position to speak peace, love, justice, mercy and reconciliation.  But it isn’t.  Too many of us have embraced a political approach to Christianity and all of the sleazy maneuvering that goes with it…and now we’re stuck…having exchanged perceived political power for actual spiritual impact.

Over the past twenty or thirty years, too many of us have embraced a political approach to Christianity and all of the sleazy maneuvering that goes with it…and now we’re stuck…having exchanged perceived political power for actual spiritual impact.

Paul said:

wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in high places.

Every time we bank on earthly means as the way to make spiritual change, we are fighting the wrong the battle.  And the result? Hypocrisy and a lost witness.

We’ve forgotten that to be an evangelical means to evangelize–to share the love of Jesus Christ.

Hear what the Spirit says to the church!
